I am Dr. Maryam Mahsal Khan, your instructor for the course on the Internet of Things (IoT) for beginners.
Briefly about me, I did my Bachelors’s in Computer Information System Engineering from the University of Engineering and Technology, Peshawar, and my Masters’s in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Technology Petronas, Malaysia.
My Ph.D. is in Computer Science from the University of Newcastle, Australia.
Professionally, I have experience both in academics and research. I have worked on multiple projects in the oil and gas, energy, and software industries. These projects include technologies from machine learning and AI, embedded systems, and advanced signal-processing techniques.
IoT is the core component that makes automation possible. Due to the reliability and affordability of sensors, availability of cloud computing services, and advancement in machine learning and AI technology.
IoT-based improvement in both production and business operation is now possible.
In this course, we will learn the basics of IoT, and its impact in various industries, And we will also look into the different use cases.
We will discuss how IoT collects and transmits data. Also, we would perform some experiments on an Arduino board for further understanding.
Hopefully, by the end of this course, you would be able to understand what is IoT and how it can be applied in the wider domain.
